As part of God's family we seek to grow in our faith, provide spiritual education to our congregation, and reach out to others.

Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA)

The women's organization (WELCA) has always been a strong and vital part of the ministry of the church. Our desire and purpose is "Promoting the church of Christ in our midst, supporting the missions carried on by our synod, and extending assistance financially and spiritually."

We have two circles, Joy and Hope, which work to carry out our missions.

Much of our monies are raised through the annual bazaar, "Circle of Love," held in October. This is a church-wide project, as many of our parishioners donate their time and talents.

Other activities of the women's group: cookbook, assembling and distributing sewing, health and school kits for Lutheran World Relief as well as quilting. We make about 100 quits a year.

We do not forget about our youth! Starting with their baptism, they are put on a cradle roll and remembered for the next 3 years on their baptism day. When the child reaches the 3rd grade, a special Bible is given to them as they begin the study of scriptures. We also fund the puppet ministry that is enjoyed by all youth.

We have started a hardship fund to help those in community who are in need.

Each fall, our faithful "Apple Core" is busy picking, peeling, slicing, rolling and freezing delicious apple pies for sale at the bazaar.

Our Bible study meets regularly as does our unit and officers

We are always looking to welcome ladies to this group! It is a great way to meet others and carry out the mission of the church at the same time!!
